Miron Eugene Ackley, June 5, 1917 – August 18, 2006
Miron E. Ackley, 89, of 412 Beelar Street, Marble Rock, died Friday, August 18, 2006 at the Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit, Mason City, Iowa.
His body was donated to the College of Osteopathic Medicine in Des Moines.
Private Memorial Services to be held at a later date.
Miron was born June 5, 1917, in Union Township, Floyd County, a son of Joe and Mary (Arhart) Ackley. As a young man he attended and graduated from the Marble Rock Public Schools.
He was united in marriage to Opal Smith March 13, 1955.
Miron and Opal shared 51 living years together. They loved to fish, farm, going dancing and especially family gatherings.
Miron is survived by his wife Opal, one brother: Herman Ackley of Washington, his step-son: Don (Judy) Sharp of Marble Rock; six grandchildren: Kent (Ann) Sharp of Pensacola, Florida, Kiel (Cheryl) Sharp of Springfield, Virginia, Mike (Lois) Kepple of Greene, Kelly (Allan) Zweck of Greene, Kayleen (Jason) Landers of Greene and Rhonda (significant other, Bob) Perry of Charles City, and eight Great Grandchildren; several nephews and nieces.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Judd Ackley of Washington state; and two step-daughters, Janice Sharp and Linda Sharp Kepple.

NOTES:
Miron Ackley's first wife was Ilene Mae Lines, the daughter of Elmer Lines and Mata (Ewald) Lines. They were apparently divorced and Ilene married Leonard Roehr in 1968 in Minnesota. She and Leonard are both buried in the Osage Cemetery.
