A Funeral Mass of the Resurrection, for Emil C. Ruzicka, 86, of Greene, Iowa, was held on Monday at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Greene, with Rev. Brunkan officiating. Burial was in the St. Mary's Cemetery in Greene. Reid's Funeral Chapel in Greene was in charge of arrangements.

Emil Carl Ruzicka was born on January 5, 1907, near Oakwood, St. Charles Township, Floyd County, Iowa, a son of Frank and Katherine (Adams) Ruzicka, and died on Friday, May 21, 1993 at his home.

He received his education at St. Mary's School in Roseville and graduated in 1922. As a young man he worked for the Huxsol Farms and Elevator and worked on the fmaiy farm. In 1935 he started farming on his own on their present farm southeast of Greene.

On November 27, 1937 he was married to Mildred Marie Stoudek at SS. Cyril and Methodius Catholic Church in Chicago, Illinois. They returned to Greene where they farmed for 29 years, retiring in 1966 when they moved to their home in Greene.

He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Greene and a member of the Knights of Columbus.

Living family members include his wife, Mildred; one son, Paul Francis and his wife Teresa Ann of Dubuque; five grandchildren: Anthony John, Matthew Paul, David Lawrence, Anastacia Marie, and Thomas Mark; two sisters, Emma Ruzicka of Charles City and Alvina Ruzicka of Marble Rock; and two brothers, Rev. Francis J. Ruzicka of Charles City and Anthony Ruzicka of Marble Rock.

He leaves to join his three children who died in infancy, Marie Kathleen in 1939, Richard Emil in 1941, and David James in 1946; and his parents.
