JOHN KERRY, 23, DIES AT FLOYD

Charles City – John Vernon Kerry, 23, died at the home of his father-in-law, John Busch, near Floyd at 10:30 Thursday night after an illness of only one day. Death was caused by complication resulting from ulcers.

Kerry was born on a farm nine miles north of Charles City in 1918 and attended Floyd County rural schools.

His mother died while he was a young boy and he had been raised by his grandmother, Mrs. Heffron.
He married Betty Busch in October 1941.

Survivors are his wife; his grandmother, and his father, John Kerry, of Meadeville, pennsulvania.

Funeral services will be held at 2 o’clock Saturday afternoon at the Grossman’s Chapel in Charles City and burial will be in Riverside Cemetery here.
The Rev. w. H. Fletcher of the Floyd Methodist Church will officiate.
