MRS. CALVERT DIES AT 58 IN HOSPITAL

#1:

Katheryn E. Calvert, 58, wife of Chester Calvert, Rock Falls postmaster, died Friday morning in a Mason City hospital.

Mrs. Calvert was born February 12, 1905, in Floyd County, daughter of David and Matilda Gast.

Surviving are her husband, a daughter, Mrs. Vern (Maxine) McDonough; grandson, David McDonough; and granddaughter Susan McDonough; and a brother; David Gast, all of Mason City. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and a sister.

Mrs. Calvert was a member of the Rock Falls Methodist Church.

Funeral arrangements are incomplete. Burial will be in the rock Falls Cemetery. Visitation will be at the Hogan-McKee Colonial Chapel from 4 p.m. Sunday until the time of services.

David and Katheryne Calvert’s daughter Maxine Calvert married Vernell A. McDonough, the son of David Augustine McDonough and Edith (Brandon) McDonough.

Vernell McDonough was born March 30, 1919 in Monroe Co., Iowa and died June 10, 1993 in West Des Moines, Polk, Iowa. [His Social Security Death index information says: V. A. McDonough].

Vernell and Maxine’s son David Chester McDonough was born November 18, 1942. Last know, he was living in Burleson, Texas.
