Velda M. Marth, 69, of Rudd, Iowa, died on Monday, December 27, 1993, at North Iowa Mercy Health Center East, in Mason City, Iowa.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday at Eden Presbyterian Church, north of Rudd. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Rudd.

Velda Marth was born on January 23, 1924 in Nora Springs, Iowa, the daughter of Oscar and Vivian (Schultz) Andresen. She married Lloyd Marth, on September 10, 1948, at the Little Brown Church, Nashua. Velda grew up in the Nora Springs and Rudd area, and graduated from Rudd high School. She graduated from St. Joseph Mercy Hospital School of Nursing in 1947.

She and her family moved to Whittier, California, and moved back to Rudd in 1954. Velda was a nurse in Whittier, Mason City, Charles City, and Osage, until retiring in 1969. She loved quilting, sewing, and spending time with her grandchildren. She was a member of the Rudd United Methodist Church.

Survivors include her husband, Lloyd Marth, Nora Springs; one son, Michael Marth and his wife Leah, Nora Springs; one daughter, Dianne Truex and her husband, Rick, Clear Lake; seven grandchildren: Hillary Marth of Wisconsin, Emily, Erin, and Katie Marth, all of Nora Springs, and Brian, Amanda, and Nicholas Truex, all of Clear Lake; two brothers, Duane Andresen of Gulf Port, Mississippi; one sister, Donna Campbell, Story City; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and one brother, Glen Andresen.
