LUCAS, KROEGER, RIPPEE, MEYER, ARRASMITH

Auguste Lucas, 88, of Humboldt, died on Tuesday, October 26, 1993 at South Humboldt Care Center, following a long illness.

Services were held Friday at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Mason City, with Rev. F. Wood officiating. Burial was in Elmwood Cemetery, Mason City.

Auguste Kroeger was born on December 13, 1904, near Reinbeck, Iowa. She graduated from St. John's Lutheran School in Reinbeck in 1920. She graduated from Wartburg College, Waverly, in 1923, with a degree in business. She was employed by JC Penney and later by the Marian and Lauer Insurance Company, Waverly. She later worked for Harry Adams, Electrician, and then at the ASCS office in Mason City.

She married Herman W. Lucas in 1928. The couple lived in Mason City and later at Nora Springs. She served for many years as a secretary of the Lutheran Womens Missionary League and was a choir mother.

Survivors include her daughter, Ellanora Rippee, Humboldt; two sons, Bernard Lucas of Nora Springs and Carl Lucas of Mason City; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; and sisters, Loney Meyer of Waterloo and Hattie Hook of Dysart.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Herman; parents; brothers: Emil, Hugo and Bill Kroeger; and sisters, Mabel, Anna and Wilma Kroeger, Laura Stahr, Ruby Harder and Rosa Arrasmith.
