Claude L. Losee, 77, Mason City, Iowa, died Friday, February 26, 1993 at home.

Funeral services were held on Tuesday at the Faith Baptist Church, Mason City. Rev. Miles Grismore officiated, with burial in the Hillside Cemetery at Marble Rock. Claude Losee was born October 21, 1915, at Marble Rock, to Vern and Jane (Walster) Losee. He graduated from Marble Rock High School in 1933. He served in the U.S. Army from May of 1941 to July of 1945, spending 3 1/2 years in Normandy, Northern France, Germany, and the Battle of the Bulge. He was awarded three bronze stars and two battle stars.

He married Joyce Christensen on September 7, 1946, at the Little Brown Church in Nashua. He was engaged in farming in the Marble Rock area until retiring to Mason City in July 1975.

He served several years on the Marble Rock Elevator Board, was a life member of the V.F.W., a member of the American Legion and the D.A.V.. He was a member of Faith Baptist Church in Mason City and accepted Christ as his Savior in 1931, and was baptized in the Shell Rock River at Marble Rock.

Survivors include his wife, Joyce of Mason City; a daughter, Jane and her husband Nick Ong of Hampton; two sons, Duane and his wife Janice of Mason City, and Gary and his wife, Jan of Marble Rock; seven grandchildren; one great-grandchild; a brother, Earl Losee of Mason City; one sister, Ardis Lockwood of Charles City; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Claude L. Losee, 77, of Mason City, Iowa, and formerly of Marble Rock, Iowa, died on Friday, February 26, 1993, in Mason City. Funeral services were held on March 2, 1993, at the Faith Baptist Church in Mason City, with burial in Hillside Cemetery at Marble Rock.

Claude L. Losee was born on October 21, 1915, in Marble Rock, the son of Vern and Jane (Walster) Losee. He graduated from the Marble Rock High School in 1933 and served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

He was married on September 7, 1946 to Joyce Christensen at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa. He farmed in the Marble Rock area until his retirement in 1975, when the couple moved to Mason City.

He was a member of the Faith Baptist Church, the V.F.W., the American Legion and the D.A.V., all of Mason City.

Living family members include his wife, Joyce, of Mason City; one daughter, Jane (Mrs. Nick) Ong of Hampton; two sons and their wives, Duane and Janice of Mason City, and Gary and Jan of Marble Rock. Surviving also are seven grandchildren, one great-grandchild, one brother, Earl of Mason City; and one sister, Ardis Lockwood of Charles City.

His parents preceded him in death.
