LACKORE, Edna M.

Mrs. Elvin (Edna M.) Lackore, 91, of Rudd, Iowa, died on Saturday, April 3, 1993, at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital in Mason City, Iowa.

Funeral services were held on Tuesday at United Methodist Church, Rudd, with Rev. M. Reth officiating. Burial was in Evergreen Cemetery, Rudd.

Mrs. Lackore was born June 27, 1901, at Waukon, Iowa, a daughter of Charles and Ethel (Mills) Goepel. She attended school on the Upper Flat north of Britt.

She married Elvin L. Lackore, on July 9, 1932 at the Little Brown Church, Nashua. She farmed with her husband in the Forest City area until 1941 when they purchased a farm north of Rudd. They retired from farming in 1965. They celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in 1982. She was a member of United Methodist Church, Rudd, and was active in the United Methodist Women, helping to care for the sick and shut-ins.

Survivors include three sons: Arlyn Lackore and his wife Lois, of Groton, Conn., Calvin Lackore and his wife, Nancy, of Brunswick, Ohio, Cecil Lackore and his wife Sandra, of West Bridgewater, Mass.; two grandsons, Randel Lackore of Rudd and Paul Lackore and his wife Peg, of Aurora, Nebraska; two great-grandchildren, Evin and Ashlyn; two sisters, Jean Terbet of Toledo, Iowa, and Dorthee Hilyard of Clearwater, Minnesota; two brothers, Myron Goepel of Boynton Beach, Florida, and Herbert Goepel of Santa Fe Springs, California.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, three sisters, and two brothers.
