Ruth (Mrs. Raymond) Koehler, 73, a resident of Rockford, Iowa, died on Friday morning, October 15, 1993, at the Nora Springs Health Care Center.

Funeral services were held on Monday morning, October 18, 1993, at the Hauser Funeral Home in Charles City, with Rev. D. Grim, pastor of the West St. Charles United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial was in the Riverside Cemetery.

Ruth A. Marth Koehler was born on March 10, 1920, in Floyd County, the daughter of Henry and Anna Adolphs Marth. She went to rural school, and graduated from Rockford High School. She attended Upper Iowa University at Fayette, and then taught rural school for five years. On June 12, 1942, she and Raymond M. Koehler were married on the Koehler farm west of Charles City.

She was a member of the West St. Charles United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women of that church. She was very caring and devoted to her family.

Living family members include her husband, Ray M., of rural Rockford; two daughters, Myrna (Mrs. Rand) Pitken of rural Rockford, and Ann (Mrs. Dave) Sudduth of Fort Collins, Colorado; four brothers: Lloyd Marth of rural Rudd, Lester Marth of rural Mason City, Harold Marth of rural Rockford, and Richard Marth of Cedar Rapids; and two sisters, Luella (Mrs. "Webb") Brandau of rural Rudd and Janet (Mrs. Wayne) Rowley of Iowa City. There are six grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, an infant son, a brother, and a sister.
