Orville C. Hesse, 79, of Mason City, Iowa, died Sunday, March 7, 1993 at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital in Mason City.

Funeral services were held on Tuesday at St. Luke Evangelical Lutheran Church, Nora Springs, with the Rev. Christopher Clarkson officiating. Burial was in Park Cemetery, Nora Springs.

Memorials may be given to the Orville C. Hesse Memorial Fund.

Orville C. Hesse was born on September 6, 1913, in Westport, Minnesota, the son of Ernest and Anna (Williams) Hesse. He attended school in Westport and lived there until 1935. He married Mabel E. Borchardt on November 10, 1938, in Grafton, Iowa. He farmed near Nora Springs for 40 years, retiring in 1988, and then moved to Mason City.

He was a member of St. Luke Evangelical Lutheran Church, Nora Springs, where he served on the church board.

Survivors include his wife, Mabel E. Hesse of Mason City; a daughter, Karen Ohlman and husband, Gary, Albert Lea, Minnesota; a granddaughter, Traci Ohlmann, Kingman, Arizona; one sister, Irene, Salzbrunn, Minneapolis, Minnesota; and two brothers, Paul Hesse and Wife, Kitty of Dry Pond, Louisiana, and Art Hesse and wife, Sandy, of Glenwood, Minnesota.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters: Marvel, Gertrude and Shirley; and one brother, Raymond.
