Elmer J. Fredricks, 76, of Mason City, Iowa, died Monday, February 15, 1993 at home.

Funeral services were held Thursday at Major Erickson Funeral Home, Mason City. The Rev. D. Anderson of St. James Lutheran Church officiated. Burial was in Memorial Park Cemetery.

Elmer J. Fredricks was born on October 2, 1916, in Streeter, Illinois, the son of George and Margaret (Peters) Fredricks. he attended rural schools near Nora Springs. He married Clarabelle F. Wentworth on June 15, 1949, in Albert Lea, Minnesota. He worked at Jacob E. Decker and Sons for 22 years, retiring in 1967.

He enjoyed gardening and tinkering in the garage. He was a member of Local P38.

Survivors include his wife, Clarabelle F. Fredericks of Mason City; a son, Arnold E. and wife Joan Fredricks, Mason City; five grandchildren: Kim C. Fredricks of St. Paul, Minnesota, Derek J., Marilyn M. and Patty Fredricks and Maryann DeWitt, all of Mason City; three great-granddaughters: Jessica A. and Samantha K. DeWitt, and Kayla Rose Fredricks; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, six sisters and five brothers.
