Lucy Helena Fehman, 99, of Manly, Iowa, died on April 12, 1993 at the Manly Care Center. Funeral services were held on Thursday, April 15, 1993, at the Bethel United Methodist Church in Manly.

A public Eastern Star service was held on Wednesday evening by the Heather Hill Chapter O.E.S. of Manly, at the Bride Colonial Chapel in Manly. Burial was in Memorial Park Cemetery, Mason City.

Lucy H. Fehman was born on July 26, 1893, the daughter of Herman and Carrie (Ljunggren) Stahl in Rockford, Iowa. She attended and received her elementary education in the Rockford school system, graduating from Rockford High School in 1911.

After competing her high school education she furthered her education, earning her B.A. degree in 1917 at Cornell College. She also earned her master's degree in science in 1930 from the University of Iowa in Iowa City.

After completing her education, she taught shool in rural Nora Springs, Lake Mills, Algona, Oelwein, Washington, Manly, Aberdean, South Dakota, Olevia, Minnesota and at Milwaukee Downer College in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, teaching for several years until her retirement.

Lucy had been a resident of the Manly Care Center since April 10, 1990. She was a member of the Bethel United Methodist Church in Manly; Heather Hill Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star in manly since 1921, where she was past matron; Royal Blue Rebecka Lodge since 1951; Young at Heart Club, manly Senior Citizens, former Happy Hour Circle and Manly Study Club.

She was united in marriage to Earl Fehman on December 28, 1948, in Manly. He preceded her in death in 1960.

Survivors include two nieces, Jeanne and husband James Overby of Seattle, Wash., and Carolyn and husband Kenneth Roeder of Thompson, North Dakota; a nephew, James and wife Jeanne of Loveland, Colorado; four great-nieces: Kathryn Savory of Seattle, Mary Yaeger of Minneapolis, Dee Stahl and Kristi May of Loveland, Colorado; two great-nephews, David Overby of Seattle and Michael Yaeger of Minneapolis; two great-great-nieces, Monica and Miranda Savory of Seattle, and one great-great-nephew, Dakota May of Loveland. She is also survived by two cousins: David Woge of Cedar Rapids, and Ruth Wamstad of Nora Springs.

Besides her husband, she was also preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, Rosa and Ethel Stahl, and by two brothers, Roy and Ernest Stahl.
