Florence M. Tatum, 86, of Ames, Iowa, and formerly of Ventura, Iowa, died on Monday, June 13, 1994 at home.

Graveside services will be held on Thursday at Park Cemetery, Nora Springs, Iowa, with Rev. R. Pippert of Nora Springs United Methodist Church officiating.

Memorial contributions may be given to the University of Northern Iowa, College of Education in her memory.

Florence M. Tatum was born on December 18, 1907, in Waterloo, Iowa, the daughter of George and Ellen (Schnabel) Moothart. She married Verle J. Tatum on July 30, 1934, in Des Moines. She graduated from Iowa State Teachers College/UNI, Cedar Falls, Iowa. She taught school at Greene High School. She lived in Ventura for 20 years and Greene for 15 years. She was a longtime member of the Ventura and Greene United Methodist Churches.

Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Carold and Lynn Glass of Nevada; two grandsons, Gregory Glass of Nevada, and Brad Glass of Iowa City; a sister, Pauline Erickson of Pocatello, Idaho; a sister-in-law, Dorothea Stewart of Mason City, Iowa; and a brother-in-law, Fred Tatum of Glendale, Arizona.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Verle J. Tatum, in 1980.
