Ruth Kloster, 84, of Charles City, died Friday, July 20, 2012, at the 11th Street Chautauqua Guest Home in Charles City.

Funeral services for Ruth Kloster will be held 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Messiah Lutheran Church. Pastor Jane Keel will officiate. Inurnment will be at a later date. Friends may call at the Hauser Funeral Home from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday and Tuesday at the church an hour prior to the service.

Ruth June Myers Kloster was born June 24, 1928, at Carroll, the daughter of Ole and Ina (Kee) Myers. She graduated from Central City High School in 1947. On June 26, 1947, she was united in marriage to Norman Kloster. For over 25 years they owned and operated Nashua Plumbing and Heating where Ruth worked as a bookkeeper. She was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church and V.F.W. and American Legion Auxiliary. Ruth enjoyed collecting Danish and animal plates and most of all playing various card games.

Living family members include two children, Debra (Steve) Downing of Charles City and Duane (Tina) Kloster of Spring Hill, Florida; four grandchildren, Jeremy Downing, Lyn Downing, Brianna (Kyle) Moore and Samantha Kloster and special friend Joe; and three great grandsons, Lance, James, Dallas and another on the way.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and two brothers, Russell Myers and Ray Harrison Myers.
