CHARLES CITY - Janice Wells, 69, of Charles City, died Sunday, July 15, 2012, at University Hospital and Clinics in Iowa City.

Memorial services for Janice Wells will be held 10:30 a.m. Friday, July 20, at Hauser Funeral Home. Pastor Debra Lincoln will officiate. Inurnment will be at a later date.

The family will greet friends an hour prior to the service.

The Hauser Funeral Home, in Charles City, 641-228-2323, is in charge of arrangements.

Janice Wells, 69, of Charles City, died Sunday, July 15, 2012, at University Hospital and Clinics in Iowa City.

Janice Kay Staebler Wells was born April 10, 1943, at Charles City, the daughter of Everett and Irma (Newton) Staebler. She graduated in 1961 from Charles City High School.

In the early 1960's she married Roger Wells and they later divorced. Janice was a member of the Pythian Sisters and had been Supreme Representative for Iowa and served as Grand Secretary of Iowa which then made her eligible to be Past Grand Chief of Iowa. Her interests included cooking and flower and vegetable gardening. For several years Janice collected and maintained a variety of cars and participated in cars shows with them.

Living family members include three children, Rick (Debbie) Wells of Rockford, Ronald Wells of Charles City and Robin (Steven) Lawrence of Floyd; and two grandchildren, Bradly and Stephanie Lawrence.

She was preceded in death by her parents.
