Dale Adrian Matte Sr. – July 21, 1918 – July 19, 2004

Dale A. Matte, Sr., of Bloomington, formerly of Minneapolis, passed away July 19, 2004, 2 days prior to his 86th birthday. He was born July 21, 1918 in Rudd, IA.

He was raised in Nora Springs, Iowa and m Married Phyllis E. Gould, November 12, 1939.
He served in the Army in the Philippines in WW II, and personally witnessed the surrender of the Japanese Empire to General MacArthur on the USS Missouri in Tokyo Bay.

He moved to Minneapolis 1956, and worked for many years at and retired from Electric Machinery.

He was preceded in death by wife, Phyllis; infant daughter, Susan; 2 brothers and 2 sisters.

He is survived by sons, Gary L. (Mary Rose), Buford, GA, Mickey J. (Pauline), Overland Park, KS, Dale A., Jr. (Joyce), Mpls; daughters, Wendy J. (Wayne) Longtin, Litchfield, MN, Cathie K. (Mohan) Praimsukh, Burnsville and Jennifer A. (Jesus R.) Flores, Bloomington; grandchildren, Rockelle, Miki, Cassandra, Eric, Adrienne, Scott, Radicca, Kirk, Sanjay, Julia, Christian; step-grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren. Also nieces, nephews, cousins, wonderful friends and neighbors.

Dale loved to fish, hunt, repair small engines, tell jokes & stories, and spend time with his family. At one time, he taught Adult Community Education at Southwest High School in small engine repair. We will miss him dearly.

Memorial service Friday, July 23, 2004 at 10 AM, Bethel Assembly of God, 57th & Nicollet, Mpls. Interment at Ft. Snelling

Dale Adrian Matte was born July 21, 1918 in Rudd Township, Floyd County, Iowa, the son of William Matte and Belva (Dean) Matte.

He married Phyllis Ernestine Gould, the daughter of Arthur Gould and Helen (Hanks) Gould.
