Jay Bishop – March 31, 1889—June 11, 1962

JAY BISHOP SERVICES SET AT NORA SPRINGS

Nora Springs – Jay Bishop, 73, died Monday at the Good Samaritan Home, Mason City, where he had been a patient six months. Funeral services will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at the Sheckler Funeral Home with burial in Park Cemetery.

Mr. Bishop had lived most of his life in Nora Springs until four years ago when he moved to Winnebago Heights.

Born March 31, 1889, west of Nora Springs, he was the son of John and Lucinda Spotts Bishop. He was married to Minnie Aldrich, June 24, 1913 at Nora Springs. She died in January 1948.

Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Arthur (Evelyn) Seidle, Mason City; Mrs. W. A. (Twyla) Shrewsbury, Colorado Springs, Colorado; Mrs. Tom (Aleta) Lineberger, Glenville, South Carolina; five grandchildren; two sisters; Mrs. Mary Dailey, of the IOOF Home, Mason City; Mrs. Laura Zuehl, Nora Springs; a brother, Lane, rural Mason City.

He was preceded in death by a sister and six brothers.
