Blaine Bishop – January 12, 1895 – August 1, 1963
B. BISHOP FUNERAL SET FOR MONDAY
Blaine Bishop, 68, died suddenly Thursday evening at his farm home on Route 4 north of Mason City. He had lived there 34 years, having moved to the farm from Nora Springs in 1929.
Mr. Bishop was born January 12, 1895 in Nora Springs, son of John and Lucinda (Spotts) Bishop. He was married to Delia Arzberger, June 1, 1916 in Nora Springs. They lived on a farm near Nora Springs until the moved north of Mason City.
Surviving are his wife, three daughters; Mrs. Walter (June) Scherb, Searville; Wanda Laine, Mason City; and Mrs. Maynard (Joyce) Calgaard, Hanlontown; eight grandchildren and a sister, Laura Zuehl, Nora Springs. He was preceded in death by his parents, seven brothers and two sisters.
Mr. Bishop was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. A family prayer service will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the Major Memorial Chapel. The Rev. Lavern R. Hanson, pastor of Trinity Lutheran Church, will officiate.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Trinity Luthern Church. The Rev. Bernard Oebser, associate pastor of Trinity Lutheran Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Park Cemetery at Nora Springs. Friends may call at the chapel from 2 p.m. Sunday until noon Monday.
