Verne Sprague Cutler – November 4, 1895 – February 8, 1936

NORA SPRINGS FUNERAL FOR VERN CUTLER HELD AT METHODIST CHURCH

Nora Springs – Funeral services for Verne Cutler were held Wednesday afternoon at the Methodist church, conducted by the Rev. George D. Gaide, pastor of the church. Mrs. O. L. Hansen and Mrs. Harry Olson, accompanied by Mrs. Earl Chenoweth, sang.
Burial was in Rock Grove Cemetery.

Verne Sprague Cutler, only son of Mr. and Mrs. V. D. Cutler, was born November 4, 1895, on what is known as the V. D. Cutler farm, 6 miles southwest of Nora Springs.

He was married to Bertha Marie Benedict September 13, 1915. To this union two children were born; Vern Harrison Cutler and June Violet Cutler. The mother died December 1918.
On September 19, 1919, he was married to Gladys Darlene Merfield of Swanville, Minnesota. The family resided on the V. D. Cutler farm until two years ago when they moved to the Mary Bell farm. Mr. Cutler had been in poor health the past year and died at his home early Saturday morning.

He is survived by his wife and son and a daughter and by his mother, Mrs. Vern Cutler of Portland, Oregon, and by five sisters, Mrs. Lottie Worcester and Mrs. Flossie Davis of Chicago; Mrs. Marjory Robison, Charles City; Mrs. Irma Berg, Portland, Oregon; Mrs. Fay Erwin, Detroit, Michigan.
