Ray August Ehlebracht, son of Ray and Sylvia Smith Ehlebracht Sr. was born on June 2, 1951 in Charles City, Iowa. Ray attended Rudd-Rockford-Marble Rock schools and graduated in 1969. Following his college education, Ray worked full time at the Rudd lumber yard and also joined his father’s business, R & R Sports in Rudd selling snowmobiles part time. Ray was united in marriage to Nancy Shultz on August 3, 1974 at the Methodist Church in Charles City. To this union, three children were born: Tina, Travis, Tonya.
Ray started his own construction business and then worked for a construction firm in Clear Lake. He left the construction business to be closer to home to work at the Farmers Coop in Rudd. Later Ray went back and received his realtor license.
Ray enjoyed fishing, hunting, and cars, especially mustangs and corvettes. He also enjoyed restoring specialty cars. Ray spent much of his time with his family. He loved to be with his children and grandchildren, going to their sporting events and concerts. Ray had a great sense of humor and would always put others before himself.
