FLOYD BOY VICTIM
OF NAVAL DISASTER
ON PACIFIC COAST

The explosion on board the battleship Mississippi, in which forty-eight men lost their lived last week, came pretty close to home. Floyd Raymond, a young lad from the town of Floyd, was one of the victims.

Floyd was the son of Milo W. Raymond, schoolhouse janitor at Floyd, and was aged about 20 years. He enlisted in the navy two years ago.

Naval men are still studying the accident for its cause. An explosion in one of the gun turrets burned and smothered the men to death.
