Beverly Jones

Beverly (Mrs. Gerald) Jones, 48, of 625 Taylor, Rudd, Iowa, died Friday afternoon, January 21, 1994. She was a hospice patient.

Funeral services were held Monday morning at 10:30 at the Rudd United Methodist Church. The Rev. Melvin Reth officiated. Burial was in the Hillcrest Cemetery at Volga. Hauser Funeral Home was in charge of the funeral arrangements.

Beverly June Chappell Jones was born on June 12, 1945, at Strawberry Point, the daughter of Glenn and Jewell Hulverson Chappell. She graduated from Strawberry Point High School in 1963 and on January 20, 1967 she and Gerald Jones were married in the First Lutheran Church at Cedar Rapids. They moved to the Rudd area in 1970.

She was employed at Shopko in Mason City for the past six years. Beverly was a member of the Rudd
United Methodist Church, the United Methodist Women and the Naomi Circle of the UMW. She enjoyed needlework, antiques, the outdoors, and her grandchildren.

Living family members include her husband, Gerald of Rudd; three daughters: Christa and her husband, Randy Strait of Mason City; and Kay and Karen Jones, both of Des Moines; her parents, Glenn and Jewell Chappell of Volga; two sisters: Janice and her husband, Paul Schmidt of Fridley, Minnesota, and Nancy and her husband, Larry Ormston of Elgin; also a brother, David, and his wife, Bonnie Chappell of Monticello. There are two grandsons, John and Tyler Strait.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents and a brother, James, in infancy.

The family suggests giving memorial gifts to the Heart to Home Hospice in Charles City.
