Ruth Lynn (Troutner) Bonzer – September 11, 1885 – November 3, 1960

MRS. RUTH BONZER DIES AT 75; RITES MONDAY

Charles City – Funeral services will be held Monday at 2 p.m. at the First Congregational church for Mrs. Ruth Bonzer, 75, widow of the late Charles C. Bonzer. She died Thursday afternoon at the Cedar Valley Hospital, following a heart attack. The body will lie in state in the Memorial Chapel of the church from 10:30 a.m. Monday until 1 p.m. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Nashua, with the Hauser Funeral Home in charge.

She was a member of the First Congregational Church serving as a deaconess for several years; was a member of the Women’s Fellowship of the Church; was a past president of the DARs; a member of the Needle Craft and Cedar Side Clubs. Her husband died May 11, 1953.

Ruth Lynn Troutner was born September 11, 1885, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Troutner at Bradford. She was married to Charles C. Bonzer January 1, 1908 at Charles City. The couple farmed southeast of Charles City for many years, moving to Charles City in 1943.

Surviving is a son Barton Bonzer, Floyd. A son, Robert, died in infancy and a son Harold died in 1921.
