Dorothy Anita Lincke Kristiansen was born Aug. 7, 1928, in Hanlontown, Iowa, the daughter of Emil and Amanda (Horgen) Lincke. She graduated from the Osage High School in 1946. On May 1, 1949, she was united in marriage to Harold Paul "Kris" Kristiansen. Over the years Dorothy worked at the Oliver Plant, St. Johns Lutheran Church, Band Box Cleaners, Spurgeon's, and retired from the First Security Bank in 1993.

She was a member of the Saint John Evangelical Lutheran Church, Charles City; Hope Lutheran Church, Cedar Rapids; V.F.W. Auxiliary and volunteered for Hospice and the Boy Scouts. Dorothy was a voracious reader and "read just about all the books in the library."
Her world revolved around the church and grandchildren, pretty much in that order.

Whatever the church needed or whatever program or event the grandchildren were doing she was there. Her husband and she spent most of the time around her home. She closely followed the Iowa Hawkeyes and enjoyed joining the mall walkers and having a cup of coffee. At a young age she preferred baseball over dolls and was on the high school basketball team.

Living family members include three children: Dr. Bradley (Marilyn) Kristiansen D.C., of Cedar Rapids, Brenda (Bruce) de Buhr of Minneapolis, Brian (Lisa) Kristiansen of Cedar Rapids; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and a sister, Edna Stott, of Charles City.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; a brother, Glenn Lincke; and two sisters, Velva Meyer and Audrey Lincke.
