Arthur L. Roy, 90, of Rudd, Iowa, died on Monday, June 27, 1994, at the North Iowa mercy Health Center East in Mason City. Funeral services were held on Thursday at the Rudd Wesleyan Church, with the Rev. John Hand officiating. Burial was in Evergreen Cemetery. Sheckler Colonial Chapel of Nora Springs was in charge of arrangements.

Art was born on April 4, 1904, in Rudd, the son of Harvey and Marie (Baumgart) Roy. For many years he was a truck driver and a carpenter. He enjoyed rodeos and horse shows, and he made a lot of jewelry.

Survivors include three daughters, Mary Babbitt of Rudd, Gloria Schmidt of Charles City and Susan Burns of Rudd; four sisters: Nellie Swanson of Mason City, Hazel Smith of Des Moines, Luella Swanson of Manly and Helen Soy of Ames; seven grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; Loretta; two sisters, Elsie Roy and Cleone Roy; and one brother, Everett.
