George William Gilbert – May 12, 1906 – July 10, 1950

Osage – Graveside rites were Tuesday at 10 a.m. at Osage Cemetery for former resident George Gilbert, 44, who was found dead Monday noon at his farm home near Rockford, Iowa.

He had been dead for some time when found by neighbors. His death was attributed to a heart attack.
He was born May 12, 1906, to Clarence and Beth Minnis Gilbert in Burr Oak Township northeast of Osage. He lived there until 1940, then purchased a farm near Rockford.

He is survived by his parents in Osage and five brothers; Max and Lawrence of Osage; John of Brentwood, New Hampshire; Alan of Van Nuys, California; and Grant in Delaware; and three sisters; Mrs. Gerald Sommers of Osage; Mrs. Casper Nielson of Grand Meadow, Minnesota; and Mrs. Ona Butler, of Rudd.
