Thomasena Tumilson Gruver

Funeral services for Thomasena Tumilson Gruver, 68, of Fort Worth, Texas, were held at noon on July 16, 1994, at the Trinity Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Fort Worth, Texas, with the Rev. Vernon Sansom officiating. Burial was in the Laurel Land Memorial Park.

Thomasena Tumilson was born December 10, 1925, the daughter of Thomas and Nellie (Fowler)
Tumilson. She attended Rockford schools, graduating from here in 1944. On July 29, 1945 she was married to Bert Gruver, Jr., who preceded her in death on March 5, 1982.

Thomasena was a homemaker for a majority of her life. She served as secretary for T.G.I.F. at
Wedgewood Bowling Lanes and Don Carter All-Star Lanes. She was also a coach and instructor for the Texas Association of Bowling Youth, and also did volunteer work at her church nursery.

Living family members include two sons, Richard Gruver of Fort Worth, Texas, and John Gruver of
Corsicana, Texas; two daughters, Nancy Dingman of Arlington, Texas, and Debby Gruver of Fort Worth; five brothers: Richard Tumilson of Baskin, Louisiana; Robert and George Tumilson, both of Rockford; Donald Tumilson of Charles City; and Thomas Tumilson of Kansas City, Missouri; and seven sisters: Betty Schindle of Rudd; Laura Paul of Florence, Italy; Cora Schroeder of Gilbert, Arizona; Ann Reiter of Charles City; Nellie Tumilson of Dallas, Texas; Lucky Kauffman of Oelwein; and Mary Tumilson of Charles City. There are 11 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Bert Gruver, Jr., and her parents.
