FORMERLY OF RUDD

HOUSTON, TEXAS - Gene Wayne Miller, 69, of Houston, and formerly of Rudd, Iowa, passed away at Memorial Herman Hospital in Houston on Thursday, February 2, 2012.

He was born December 10, 1942, in Charles City. He married Donna Rae Miller and to this union two children were born, a daughter, Stephanie (Wayne) Ricks of Zion, Illinois, and a son Tim (Tara) of Newark, Texas.

Gene contracted polio at the age of 2 but was not held back from trying many activities throughout his lifetime. He enjoyed horseback riding and stock car racing in his younger years.
He and Donna ran the Rudd Lounge and Cafe for several years. He then worked in different retail sales positions, including at Atlas Motor Homes /AMF in Mason City.

He is survived by brothers, Jerry (Judy) of Rudd, John (Carol) of Charles City and Joel (Linda) of Rudd. Also, grandchildren Keyana and Nathan Ricks of Zion and Kristen, Amanda and Macy Miller of Newark, Texas.

He was proceeded in death by his mother, Arlee Stiles Miller; his father, Arnold (Bud) Miller; and a brother, James D. Miller on Dec. 20, 2011.
