The Charles City woman, Iola Greenzweig, 71, who died May 16, 1994 in a two-car collision near Rudd, was born at Rockford on September 9, 1922.

She was the daughter of John and Matilda "Tillie" Warren Hall. She attended rural schools near her home and graduated from Rockford High School in 1940.

On November 27, 1941, she and Donald W. Greenzweig were married in Bethany, Missouri. They farmed west of Charles City on Highway 14 for 31 years, and then moved to a small acreage on Cedar Crest lane northwest of Charles City.

Iola was a member of the West St. Charles United Methodist Church, and a life member of the V.F.W. Post #3914 Auxiliary, where she had been elected to her fourth term as president this year. She was co-coordinator and later, coordinator of the Red Cross Hawkeye Chapter Bloodmobile for Charles City. She was also a member of the local, state and national Red Cross Disaster Team, and was an assistant FEMA Floyd County Shelter manager. She was driving to Mason City for a Red Cross meeting at the time of the accident. This tireless, avid worker will be greatly missed.

There are 15 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Donald, in 1987; a daughter, Maxine Milota in 1971; a grandson, Dennis Sharp; and three brothers: Gilbert, Roger and Earl Hall.
