Darwin A. "Oscar" Kollman, 65, of Mason City, Iowa, died on Saturday, April 9, 1994 at Good Sheperd Health Center.

Memorial services will beheld on Saturday, April 16, 1994, at Fullerton Patterson James Funeral Chapel, Mason City, with Rev. K. Hatland of Our Savior's Lutheran Church officiating. Darwin's body was donated to the University of Iowa.

Darwin was born in Rudd, Iowa, to Louie and Ethel (Marchant) Kollman on June 9, 1928. He attended and completed his education in Rudd. He farmed in Mitchell county for 20 years. In 1976 he married Dorothy Mae Waldo Hesley. He then worked as a truck driver for Mitchell Transport for several years. Darwin was a wood carver and loved to work with wood, fishing and restoring bicycles.

He is survived by his wife, Dorothy of Mason City; one son, Darrel L. Hesley and his wife, Gloria, of Mason City; four daughters: Cynthia D. Jewell of Apple Valley, Minnesota, Linda L. Kollman of Richfield, Minnesota, Cindy R. Hesley of Mason City, and Mrs. Jerry (LeaAnn) Lunn of Clear Lake.; two sisters, Bonita A. White of Rudd and Darlene Hampson of Isle, Minnesota; five grandchildren, Nicol Jewell, Travis Hesley, Jena, Ashley, and Shelby Lunn.

Oscar was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Kenneth and LuVerne; two sons, Dwane and Thomas Hesley; and one grandson, Cole Lunn.
