FLOYD, IOWA -- Glen Daughenbaugh, age 77, of Floyd, died on Thursday December 22, 1994 at North Iowa Mercy Health Center East, Mason City, Iowa.

Memorial services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, January 6, 1995, at Hauser Funeral Home, Charles City, where other arrangements are incomplete.

Glen D. Daughenbaugh

Glen D. Daughenbaugh, 77, of Floyd, died Thursday, December 22, 1994, at the Mercy Hospital, East Campus, in Mason City. Memorial services will be held at a later date at the Hauser Funeral Home in Charles City.

Glen Dale Daughenbaugh was born on February 20, 1917, at Charles City, the son of Dale and Addie
Teedy Daughenbaugh. He received his education in the Charles City schools, and graduated from there.

On December 10, 1938, he and Florence “Toodie” Greene were married at Charles City. Glen served in the Sea Bees in the Aleutian Islands during World War II. Following the war, he was a welding foreman at the Oliver Corporation until 1955, when they purchased a resort on Leach Lake in Minnesota.

In 1967 they sold the resort and moved back to the Charles City area, where he was employed by the Monroe Sporting Goods in Charles City until it was sold. He was then Floyd County Planning and Zoning Administrator and Floyd County Civil Defense Director. During all this time he was a captain of the Floyd County Sheriff’s Reserve, serving that organization for 26 years. He was also a member of the American Legion and a former member of the Moose Lodge.

Living family members include his wife, Florence, of Floyd; and two brothers, Raymond of Greene and Fay of Chula Vista, California. There are several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Memorial contributions are being made to the Floyd County Sheriff’s Reserve.
