CHARLES CITY, IOWA - Diane Stowe, 77, of Charles City, died Sunday, January 8, 2012, at the 9th Street Chautauqua Guest Home in Charles City.

Diane Stowe, 77, of Charles City, died Sunday, January 8, 2012, at the 9th Street Chautauqua Guest Home in Charles City.

Memorial services will be held at a later date.

Diane LaVerne Stowe was born June 4, 1934, at Red Wing, Minn., the daughter of Vernon and Marion (Henn) Vanberg. She graduated from Worthington High School in Worthington, Minn. On March 15, 1953, she was united in marriage to Rex Stowe, Jr. at Worthington. They moved to Charles City in 1956 where they owned and operated Van's Hardware for 40 years. She was a member of Grace Episcopal Church.

Living family members include two children, Bret Stowe and Keri (Eugene) Anderegg both of Charles City; six grandchildren; and six great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and a great grandson.
