Funeral services were held Monday morning at St. Luke Lutheran Church in Nora Springs for Jean Ardeth Buckman, 67, of Mason City, who died Friday, September 23, 1994 at Muse Norris Hospice In-patient Unit. Rev. Christopher Clarkson officiated, and burial was in Park Cemetery, Nora Springs. Sheckler Colonial Chapel in Nora Springs handled arrangements.

Jean Ardeth Buckman was born March 3, 1927 in rural Britt, to Ben and Louisa Hubbard Johns. She graduated from Britt High School in 1944.

On December 8, 1945, she was united in marriage to Robert J. Buckman at Austin, Minnesota.

Jean lived in Nora Springs until moving to Mason City in 1992. She had been an employee of Dr. L.A. Bascom until he retired in 1974. She was a member of St. Luke Lutheran Church in Nora Springs, and a member of the Cedar Valley Rebekah Lodge in Charles City.

Survivors include three sons: Danny Buckman and his wife, Connie, of Forest City; Terry Buckman and his wife, Raynette, of Cedar Rapids; and Larry Buckman and his wife, Maryjane of Mason City; one sister, Jeanette Bravick and her husband, Robert, of Britt; a special friend, Dale Witt of Nora Springs; one sister-in-law, Doris Johns of LuVerne; eight stepsisters; one stepbrother; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and two brothers.
