The Rev. C. Delbert Grim, 59, a resident of Floyd, Iowa, died on Friday morning, December 31, 1993, at his home of an apparent heart attack.

Funeral services were held on Monday at the Trinity United Methodist Church. The Rev. D. Ward Young, officiated. Burial was in the Oakwood Cemetery at Floyd.

The Hauser Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Charles Delbert Grim was born on December 27, 1934, at Iowa City, Iowa, the son of Arthur and Helen Brookhart Grim. He graduated from Nichols High School, and was a farmer and truck driver.

On July 19, 1959, he and Harriet Hicks were married at the Nontezuma Methoidist Church. In 1979, he started a second career as a pastor in the United Methodist Church, attending a course of study at the Garrett-Evangelical seminary in Evanston, Illinois, graduating in 1984. He entered the ministry as a pastor in the United Methodist Church in Marshalltown, serving Bethany United Methodist and Morrow Memorial United Methodist churches there. He presently was serving a dual pastorate at the Grace United Methodist at Floyd and the West St. Charles United Methodist Church in rural Charles City. He was involved in many different community organizations as well as district and conference church organizations.

Living family members include his wife, Harriett, of Floyd; two daaughters and their husbands, Becky and Cam North of Charles City, and Pam and Tim Jobes of Waverly; a son and his wife, Charles and Alyson Grim of Ankeny; and two brothers, Donald Grim of Davenport and Melvin Grim of West Liberty. There is one granddaughter, Brooksany Jobes.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
