Dwight C. Schotanus, 46, of 352 W.
Onondaga St., died Monday at his home.

A native of Mason City, Iowa, Mr. Schotanus lived in Syracuse 15 years. He formerly was a welder with Falso Industries. He was a Navy veteran of the Vietnam War.

Surviving are his wife, the former Rosalie Waterman; two sons, Todd of Westminster, Calif., and Robert of Osage, Iowa; two daughters, Ursula Schotanus of Syracuse and Angela Schotanus of Mason, Iowa; a stepson, Francis Kennedy of Syracuse; two stepdaughters, Mary and Maureen Sabattis, both of Syracuse; his father and stepmother, Clyde and Louise Schotanus of St. Ansgar, Iowa; a brother, David of Plymouth, Iowa; two sisters, Caroline Schotanus of Rudd, Iowa, and Connie Schotanus of Simi Valley, Calif.; and nine grandchildren.

Services will be conducted in Nora Springs, Iowa, at a later date.

Local calling hours will be 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Butler-Badman Funeral Home, 4504 W. Seneca Turnpike.

Dwight Schotanus, 47, formerly of Rudd, iowa, died on Novmber 2, 1992, at his home in Syracuse, New York.

Funeral services were held on Firday, at Onondaga County Veteran's Memorial Cemetery, Syracuse, New York.

Dwight Schotanus was born on July 29, 1945, the son of Clyde Schotanus and Marion (Adkins) Schotanus. He attended school in Rudd and enlisted in the Navy when he was 17. He served for four years on the U.S. Tripoli, fueling planes, until being stationed at DaNang, Vietnam, for one year.

He was a certified welder at Oliver in Charles City and helped his father with farming. He also did carpenter work. he liked to keep busy and was very eager and prideful of his work. He moved to Syracuse and welded for Medal Good Service Centers.

He is survived by his father, Clyde Schotanus and stepmother Louise Schotanus, St. Ansgar; four children: Angie, Todd, Robert and Ursula Schotanus; two sisters, Mrs. Roger (Connie) Owens, Simi Valley, Calif., and Mrs. Ray (Mickey) Schuler, Rudd; and one brother, David Schotanus and his wife Judy, of Plymouth.

He was preceded in death by his mother and grandparents.
