VANDEVENTER, NABER, FRIEND, SCHMIDT

Services for Grace C Vandeventer, 94, who died Friday, May 31, 1985, at the 11th Street Chautauqua Guest Home, will be 1:30 Tuesday at the Hauser Funeral Home. Rev. Maurice McClun pastor of the Bethany Alliance Church will officiate. Burial will be in the West St. Charles Cemetery. Friends my call at the Hauser Funeral Home after 7:30 p.m. Sunday.

Grace C. Naber Vandeventer was born on September 20, 1890 at Kamrar, Iowa, the daughter of Cornelius and Tempka VanLangen Naber. She received her education in the Kamrar Country schools and on October 10, 1910, she and Ernest Romanzo Vandeventer were married at Webster City, Iowa. She was a member of the Bethany Alliance Church.

Family members include five sons, Raymond and Edward, Charles City, Lloyd, Wichita, Kansas, Elroy, Louisville, Kentucky and Howard, New Palestine, Indiana, two daughters Mrs. Lulla Schmidt and Mrs. Ivan (Lavernus) Friend, both of Charles City, 31 grandchildren, 66 great grandchildren and 18 great-great-grandchildren, two brothers, William Naber and Ole Naber both of Webster City, Iowa.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband in 1970, four daughters, one son, two sisters and one brother.
