Funeral services for Mabel Truitt, 79, of Charles City were Wednesday, February 20 at the Hage Funeral Home in Charles City. Rev. Paul Mork of St. John’s Lutheran Church officiated with burial in Sunnyside Memory Gardens, Charles City.

Mrs. Truitt was born in Mitchell County on July 20, 1905, the daughter of Herman and Anna Jung
Brandau. She was educated in Cedar Township country school in Mitchell County, rural Osage.

On June 5, 1924 she married Paul Troge at Osage. The couple was divorced and on February 13, 1948 she married Leroy Show at Austin, Minn. He died in 1959. On March 11, 1963, she married Rex Brown at Corpus Christi, Texas. Following his death, in March 1964, she married Chester Truitt on June 13, 1971. He died in May 1983.

She is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Ardene Jorgenen, Mrs. Shirley Boggess, Mrs. Beverly Johnson and Sandra Troge, all of Charles City; three sons, Keith and Jack Troge, both of Charles City and Gary Show of Buffalo, N.Y.; one sister, Mrs. Dale (Viola) Naze of Osage; one brother, Herman Brandau of Charles City; 13 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
