HARRIET ROSE NAVRATIL

MASON CITY - Harriet Rose Navratil, 81, of Rockford died Monday (Sept. 23, 2002) at the Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit in Mason City.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday at Zion Lutheran Church, 805 E. Main St. in Rockford. Interment will follow in Riverside Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 4 until 8 p.m. today at Fullerton Schumburg Funeral Home, 302 W. Main St. in Rockford. Visitation will continue one hour prior to services on Wednesday at the church.

Harriet was born on July 28, 1921 in Grafton, Iowa, the daughter of Arthur and Lora (Walk) Schultz.

In 1940 Harriet was united in marriage to Wesley LeRoy Navratil in Grafton. Harriet was employed for several years by the Rockford Brick and Tile and later by the Rockford Locker.

Harriet enjoyed working in her garden, helping friends, and just sitting down to read. She enjoyed her home and loved to stay there.

Harriet truly cherished her family especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church.

Those thankful for having shared in Harriet's life include her children, Jerry Navratil and his wife, Joyce, of Rockford, Butch Navratil and his wife, Jean, of Rockford, Marilyn Mullen and her husband, Dennis, of Rockford, Debbie Fitkin and her husband, Jim, of Cedar Falls; one sister, Dorothy Straube, of Osage; sister-in-law, Lois Schultz; and brother-in-law, Ben Navratil and his wife, Lil; nine grandchildren, Loren Navratil and his wife Sherri, Vicky McCloskey and her husband, John, Dawn Vallery and her husband, Dave, Pam Tusler and her husband, Steve, Pat Navratil, Denise Mullen, Jennifer Koch and her husband Jesse, Matt Fitkin, and Lora Fitkin; and 13 great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Navratil was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Wesley; and one brother, Kenneth Schultz.
