CHARLES CITY, IOWA - Kenneth H. "Kenny" Schmidt, 70, of 102 Charles St., died Wednesday (Dec. 26, 2001) at Mercy Medical Center-North Iowa in Mason City.
His funeral will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday at the Hauser Funeral Home, 1205 S. Main St. in Charles City, with the Rev. Solomon Odoom, pastor of West St. Charles United Methodist Church, Floyd County, officiating. Burial will be in West St. Charles Cemetery, with a flag presentation by the Charles City Ceremonial Unit.
Visitation will be held from 3 to 9 p.m. today at Hauser Funeral Home and one hour prior to services at the church.

#2:CHARLES CITY, IOWA - Kenneth H. "Kenny" Schmidt, 70, of Charles City, died Wednesday, December 26, 2001, at North Iowa Mercy Health Center, Mason City, of natural causes.
Survivors include a son, Dennis of Charles City; two daughters, Virginia Schallock of Charles City and Barbara Schmidt of Worthington, Minnesota; and seven grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and two stepgreat-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Roselyn "Rosey," in July 2001; a daughter, Sandra Schmidt; and two brothers.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Hauser Funeral Home, Charles City, with burial in West St. Charles Cemetery, Floyd County; there will be a flag presentation at the graveside by the Charles City Ceremonial Unit; friends may call from 3 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home with the family present from 6 to 8 p.m., and from 9 a.m. until service time Saturday.
Mr. Schmidt attended Iowa State University, Ames, and served in the National Guard from 1949 to 1958; he farmed, did trucking of grain and livestock, and sold feed, chemicals and fertilizer, retiring in 1994.
