Michael E. Oxley, 55, of Charles City, Iowa, died Tuesday morning, March 22, 2011, at Cedar Health in Charles City.

Memorial services for Michael Oxley will be held 10:30 a.m. Friday at First United Methodist Church in Mason City. Pastor Jim Stiles will officiate. Inurnment will be in Concord Cemetery, Garner. Visitation will be from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Friday at the church in Mason City.

Michael Edward Oxley was born April 22, 1955, in Mason City, the son of Marvin R. and Clara Emma (Krambeer) Oxley. He graduated from Nora Springs High School. All through high school Michael was very active in sports. He was employed for many years at Curries Manufacturing in Mason City. Michael enjoyed watching football, baseball and basketball.

Living family members include his two children, Chad Oxley of Tenn. and Betsy (Derek) Matthews of Murfreesboro, Tenn.; three grandchildren, Leslie, Carsten and Madison Matthews; brother, Henry (Linda) Oxley of Albany, Ga.; three sisters, Gerene (Bob) Fistler of Mason City; Judy (Ron) Eldridge of Arvada, Colo. and Alma (David) Schafer of Mason City; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents; parents; and two brothers, Alan Oxley and Marvin Oxley, Jr.
