RALPH E. HARRIS

NORTHWOOD - Ralph E. Harris, 83, of Northwood, died Thursday (April 1, 1999) at the North Iowa Mercy Health Center, Mason City.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, April 5, 1999, at the Schroeder and Sites Funeral Home, Highway 65 South, Northwood, with the Rev. Allan Stoa officiating. Burial will be in the Sunset Rest Cemetery, Northwood.

Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Sunday at the Schroeder and Sites Funeral Home.

Ralph E. Harris was born on Aug. 1, 1915, to Clarence Roy and Carrie Augusta (Kollman) Harris at Rudd.

Ralph married Cheryl Whitney on July 3, 1936, in Mason City. He farmed from 1936 to 1974 when he retired. He ran the Harris Dairy in Northwood from 1940 to 1942.

Ralph drove a school bus from 1976 to 1981, which he enjoyed. He also enjoyed the children. He was an avid sports fan.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Larry; daughter, Ann; grandson, Thomas Vermace; two sisters and one brother.

Ralph is survived by his wife, Cheryl, of Northwood; two sons, Lonnie and Bob, both of Northwood; one daughter, Paula Harris, of Northwood; one sister, Ruth Ann Hilborn, of Northwood; 12 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.
