MANSFIELD, OHIO - Edna I. (Witt) Hallabrin, 78, of 68 Westgate Dr., Mansfield, Ohio, died of Cancer on Wednesday, Dec. 1, 1999, at the Hillcrest Nursing Center of Fredricktown, Ohio, after a brief illness.

Mrs. Hallabrin was born June 5, 1921, at Nora Springs, the daughter of William and Myrtle (Pribbenow) Witt. Edna attended country school and graduated from Nora Springs High School in 1939. She was Miss Nora Springs at the Mason City Band Festival that year.

She was united in marriage to Barney Marrs in 1942. They adopted their son, Daniel Dale Marrs, in 1948.

Edna moved to Mesa, Ariz., in 1968. She was united in marriage to Philip Hallabrin in 1980 in Phoenix, Ariz. They moved to Mansfield, Ohio, in 1981, where they resided until now.

Edna enjoyed being a homemaker, baking special treats and working as a secretary in Mason City and Phoenix, Ariz. Most recently, she worked for Dr. William Elder at Fredricktown, Ohio.

She was a member of the Grace Episcopal Church in Mansfield, Ohio, enjoying the fellowship and serving on various committees of the church. She especially enjoyed corresponding with her former classmates and keeping in touch with her other friends.

Funeral services were conducted by the Rev. David Sipes and Rector John Jorden on Saturday, Dec. 4, 1999. Burial was in Mansfield Memorial Park.

She is survived by her husband, Philip Hallabrin, of Mansfield, Ohio; a son, Daniel Marrs and his wife, Denise, of Winston-Salem, N.C.; a granddaughter, Luv Bikker and her husband, David, of Anacortes, Wash.; four great-grandchildren, Brianna, Gabrielle, Alexandria and Nathan Bikker; two stepdaughters, Bonnie Beck and her husband, Dana and Vickie Bond, both of Laguna Niguel, Calif.; five step-grandchildren, Alex Martin and his wife, Kathy, of North Carolina, Travis Richard, of New York, Jack Bond, Cooper Bond and Nicole Beck, of California; two step-great-grandchildren, Daniel and Stewart Martin, of North Carolina; two brothers, Harold Witt and his wife, Genevieve and Dale Witt, of Nora Springs; a sister, Bonnie Billings and her husband, Jim, of Nora Springs; five nieces and nephews, Bill Witt and his wife, Nancy, of Nora Springs, Barbara O'Donnell and her husband, Dennis, of Mason City, Jim Witt and his wife, Pam, of Mason City, Jolene Juhl and her husband, David, of St. Ansgar, and Cindy Fink and her husband, Chuck, of Nora Springs, as well as many other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and a nephew, Bruce Billings.

Mr. and Mrs. William Witt of Nora Springs announce the approaching marriage of their daughter, Edna, to Barney C. Marrs of Charles City, son of Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Marrs of Rockford. The wedding will take place June 30.
