NORA SPRINGS, IOWA - Michael Allen Cabrera Sr., 49, of 17 Sixth St. N.W., Nora Springs, died Monday (Dec. 6, 1999).

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday at the Fullerton Funeral Home, 123 Second St. S.E., Mason City, with the Rev. Dennis Cahill of Holy Family Catholic Church officiating. Interment will follow in Elmwood-St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. until time of services on Friday at the Fullerton Funeral Home.

MASON CITY - Michael Allen Cabrera Sr., 49, of 816 S. Harrison Ave., died Monday (Dec. 6, 1999).

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday at the Fullerton Funeral Home, 123 Second St. S.E., Mason City, with the Rev. Dennis Cahill of Holy Family Catholic Church officiating. Interment will follow in Elmwood-St. Joseph Cemetery, with a flag-folding ceremony conducted by the Veterans Memorial Association.

Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. until time of services on Friday at the Fullerton Funeral Home.

Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to the Michael A. Cabrera Memorial Fund.

Michael was born on January 17, 1950, in Mason City, the son of Andrew and Shirley (Baldwin) Cabrera. He graduated from Mason City High School in 1969 and attended two years at NIACC. While in high school, he excelled in wrestling. He honorably served his country in the Marine Corps, where he earned the following commendations; Purple Heart, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal with one star, Vietnam Campaign Medal with device and a Marksman Rifle Badge.

He lived in Mason City and the surrounding area all of his life except for 10 years in California, returning to this area in 1989.

He was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church and the Disabled American Veterans.

He enjoyed being with his family, fishing, camping and collecting old things.

Michael is survived by his wife, Cindy; three daughters, Shanlyn Eveland and Angela McNamara, both of Mason City and Tricia of Texas; three sons, Michael Cabrera II of Hampton, Andrew and Anthony Schroeder, both of Coulter; three sisters, Andrea Peterson of Mason City, Shelley Winchester and Deborah Holmes, both of Sioux City; and one brother, Andrew Cabrera of Mason City; eight grandchildren, Cinder, J.D., Sally, Codie, Tricia, Jacob, Stephanie and Jarrod, and many nieces and nephews, Anthony Peterson, Chad Lester, Shane Ward, Brandon Ward, Andrea Mead, Natalie Cruz and Angela Garcia.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
