The Rev. David Lang, pastor of the Evangelical church, had charge of funeral services Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Sheckler funeral home for A.J. "Jack" Keith, 76, who died at his home here at 2:30 Sunday afternoon, February 27. Mr. Keith had been in failing health for several years, but it was only during the past three weeks that his illness confined him to his bed.

Born at Cherry Valley in Boone county, Illinois, he moved to Waterloo, Iowa, with his parents in 1881. While he was a very small boy he and his parents came to Charles City on a visit and from that town he was a passenger on a stage coach to Rock Grove, since there was no railroad in this area at the time. The family moved to Floyd county in 1882 and he has been a resident of this community for the past 62 years.

He was married to Katherine Rodrian on February 8, 1893, the couple having celebrated their golden wedding anniversary on February 8, 1943. One son was born to the couple, John Keith of Nora Springs.

The survivors include his wife; his son John Keith; and two grandchildren, all of Nora Springs, as well as one brother, William Keith of Big Stone City, S. Dakota; two sisters, Mrs. Anna Turner of Tracy, Minnesota; and Mrs. Ida Hostetler of Fulda, Minnesota, and numerouse nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, and three sisters.

Burial was in Spring Grove cemetery, north of Nora Springs.
