CHARLES EARL SCHULTZ, 55
RETIRED MARKET OWNER, DIESCharles Earl Schultz, 55, 1725 Delaware S.E. retired owner of Earl's Fruit Market, died at a Mason City hospital Monday noon of a cerebal hemmorhage. He had suffered a similar stroke in September.
Mr. Schultz was born on October 25, 1898, the son of Charles Otto and Margaret Schultz. He was married to Hazel Sellon on September 24, 1916. Three years later they adopted their only child, Laurine, now Mrs. Richard Byerly.
Of Nora Springs
The couple lived in and around Nora Springs until 1933 when they moved to Mason City. He established Earl's Fruit Market at its present location, 1607 S. Federal.
In 1947 he sold his business because of ill health but two years later acquired it back. He has remained inactive since that time, his son-in-law, Richard Byerly, managing the store.
Mr. Schultz was a member of the IOOF Lodge, the Elks Lodge and Wesley Methodist Church.
Family Survives
Surviving are his wife; son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Richard Byerly; twin grandsons, Bill and Bob Byerly, Mason City; his mother, Margaret Schultz, Ypislanti, Michigan; three sisters: Mrs. Oscar (Vivian) Andersen, Rudd,
Nona Zastrow, Mason City, and Mrs. George (Naidee) Mason, Ypsilanti, Michigan.He was preceded in death by his father.
Funeral arrangements are incomplete. The McAuley and Son Funeral Home is in charge.
