Succumbs In Hospital
Following Brief Illness

Funeral services were held at the Methodist church in Nora Springs Wednesday afternoon, April 25, for Mrs. Harry Heinselman, 66, who died at 5:25 Saturday afternoon, April 21, in the Cedar Valley hospital in Charles City.

Mrs. Heinselman had been in failing health for the past three months, although she had only been confined to bed for the last ten days. She became a patient at the Charles City hospital Thursday morning, and under went an operation Friday morning.

The last rites were conducted by the Rev. A.B. Mercer, pastor of the church. He was assisted by the Rev. J. W. Bearse of Marble Rock. Serving as casket bearers were Roy Heinselman, Lloyd Heinselman, Verle Heinselman,Lynn Spotts, Paul Spotts and Dale Bitterman. The floral tributes were arranged by Mrs. Carl Petersen and Mrs. D. H. Bitterman. Two hymns, "In The Garden" and "Face to Face" were sung by Mrs. O.L. Hansen and Mrs. C. E. Cummings. They were accompanined by Mr. K. S. Shanks at the piano. Burial was in Spring Grove Cemetery, north of Nora Springs.

Born Here

Mrs. Heinselman, (nee) Kate Forbes, was born near Nora Springs, Iowa, on February 24, 1885, one of five children of Fletcher and Laura Forbes. She grew to womanhood here. She attended the Nora Springs Seminary and high school in Des Moines one year, later teaching for several years in rural schools near Nora Springs. In 1908 she entered the Northwestern hospital in Minneapolis as a student nurse, but was unable to complete her training, due to poor health. After returning home, however, she assisted in many homes where there was an illness.

She was married to Harry Heinselman January 12, 1910. Three sons were born to the couple. One son, Lynn, died May 3, 1919, at the age of two years.

Two brothers also preceded Mrs. Heinselman in death.

She lived near Nora Springs all her life with the exception of 11 years spent on a farm west of Charles City.

She is survived by her husband, two sons, Lee Heinselman of Clarksville and Leonard Heinselman of Charles City; six grandchildren; and two sisters, Mrs. Maude Bitterman of Pasadena, Calif., and Mrs. E. C. Hofler of Nora Springs.

The Sheckler funeral home had charge of the rites.
