Of This CommunityMrs. Floyd Yaggy, (nee) Virginia Schlosser, age 39, died Friday, May 4, [1951] at the Park hospital in Mason City, following a lingering illness.
Funeral services were held in the Evangelical United Brethren church in Nora Springs at 2 o'clock Monday afternoon, May 7, with the pastor, the Rev. W.F. Ellerbeck, conducting the rites.
Pall bearers were Hugh Hughes, Irwin Johnson, Paul Bisgrove and Elmer Krause. Interment was in Park cemetery. Earl Dean of Mason City sang "The Lord Is My Shepherd: and "In The Garden". Mrs. Dean accompanied him on the piano. Members of the flower committee were Mrs. Calvin Pippert, Mrs. James Culter and Mrs. Glen McEachran.
Mrs. Yaggy was born July 20, 1911, in Nora Springs, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Schlosser. She was married to Floyd E. Yaggy on October 21, 1934. One son Ronald Vern, was born to the couple on July 4, 1936.
Her entire life was spent in the vicinity of Nora Springs, with the exception of two years while the family resided at Wisconsin Rapids, Wisc.
She was a long-life member of the Evangelical United Brethren church of Nora Springs, and a member of the W.S.W.S. She was also active in the Portland community Sunday school and church, as well as the W.C.T.U. The Rev. Mr. Ellerbeck said, in the eulogy accompanying the obituary,
"She will be remembered as one who has given willingly of her talents and time for the benefit of others."She was graduated from the Nora Springs high school in the class of 1929, and Hamilton's school of commerce at Mason City.
She was preceded in death by her father, Andrew Schlosser, in 1950.
Survivors are her husband, Floyd E. Yaggy; her son Ronald Vern, both of Mason City; her mother, Mrs. Andrew Schlosser; five sisters, Miss Verna Schlosser of Nora Springs, Mrs. Robert (Nettie) Mooney of Los Angeles, Mrs. Dewey (Rose) Campbell of Otranto, Mrs. Fred (Dorothy) Larson of Waterloo and Mrs. A. J. (Margorie) Rhutasel of Mason City; and three brothers, Edward Schlosser of Nora Springs, Milton Schlosser of Los Angeles, and Clarence Schlosser of Mason City.
