Agon “Dutch” Mannetter, 88, of Charles City, died Thursday, December 9, 2010, at Saint Luke’s Hospital in Cedar Rapids.

Funeral services for Dutch Mannetter will be held 1:30 p.m. Monday at the Hauser Funeral Home in Charles City. Pastor Forrest Cornelius of the First Congregational Church will officiate. Burial will be in Sunnyside Memory Gardens rural Charles City.

Friends may call at the Hauser Funeral Home from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday and an hour prior the service on Monday.

Agon Carl Mannetter was born May 18, 1922, in Hardin County, the son of Carl and Mary (Beckemeier) Mannetter. He received his education from schools in Hardin and Mitchell counties. On August 8, 1950, he was united in marriage to Barbara Wilson at the Little Brown Church. They farmed all their lives in the Colwell area. He was a 60+ year member of the Colwell United Church of Christ. Dutch will be remembered as an avid farmer who also enjoyed doing repair work. Family was always very important to him and he took every opportunity to share his life with them.

Living family members include his wife of 60 years, Barbara Mannetter of Charles City; three daughters, Nancy (Bill) Ritzman of Charles City, Becky (Rick Larsen) Mannetter of Cedar Rapids and Judy (Tracy Kuramoto) Mannetter of Chicago; five grandchildren, Terry Ritzman, Amy Johnson, and Nathan, Ben and Lauren Larsen; and three great grandsons, Nicholas Ritzman, Jackson Johnson and Riley Johnson.

He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Erich, Seigfred, Oswald and Edmund Mannetter; and six sisters, Helga Schnormeier, Laura Henry, Regina Wise, Ruth Meyer, Helene Mannetter and Edith Owens.
