GLENN A. BRUNS

RUDD, IOWA - Glenn A. Bruns, 69, of 613 Depot St., Rudd, died Sunday (June 11, 2000) at the Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit, Mason City.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Hogan Bremer Colonial Chapel, 126 Third St. N.E., with the Rev. Kathy Graves of Hospice of North Iowa officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery with a flag folding ceremony conducted by the Mason City Veterans Memorial Association.

Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. today and will continue on Tuesday until service time at the funeral home.

Memorials contributions may be made to Hospice of North Iowa in memory of Glenn A. Bruns.

Glenn A. Bruns was born Jan. 4, 1931, in Waverly, a son of Anton Carl and Louise Bertha (Volker) Bruns. He grew up in the Waverly and Albert Lea, Minn., areas.

He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. He lived in Alba, Texas, for many years and was a metal fabricator for Texas Wall System until retiring in 1992. He then moved to Mason City where he lived until January 2000, when he moved to Rudd.

He enjoyed picking up golf balls, going to rummage sales and caring for the family dog, Peaches. He also enjoyed visiting with family and friends.

He is survived by five children, Randy Bruns and his wife, Dawn, of Mason City, Leroy Bruns and his wife, Lori, of Belton, Texas, Teresa Ivy and her husband, Jimmy, of Alba, Texas, Brian Bruns, of Marshalltown, and Bruce Bruns and his wife, Donna, of Murfreesboro, Tenn.; 10 grandchildren, Angie Lillibridge of Waverly, Crystin and Eric Bruns, both of Belton, Texas, Corporal Tara Lowe, U.S. Marine Corps, Camp Pendleton, Calif., K.J. Lowe of Alba, Texas, Nikki, Brandi, and Sarah Bruns, all of Marshalltown, and Rhiannon and Lacey Bruns, both of Murfreesboro, Tenn.; one great-granddaughter, MacKenzie; 11 stepgreat-grandchildren; one brother, Joe Bruns, Janesville; one sister, Virginia Weimer and her husband, Paul, of Phurump, Nev.; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter-in-law, Janie Bruns; a grandson, Tige Anthony Lowe; three sisters, Burdene Davis, Arlene Brown and Mary; and one brother, Cecil Bruns.
