Funeral Held for
Rockford Woman

ROCKFORD- Funeral services were held for Mrs. Walter Struchen, 70, at the Blake Funeral Home, the Rev. W. G. Weber, pastor of Zion Lutheran Church, officiating. Burial in the Rockford Cemetery.

Survivors include her husband, sons Earl and Harold, two sisters and nine grandchildren.

Mrs. Struchen was born in Germany and came to the United States at the age of four years.

In 1903 she was married to Walter Hutchison and with the exception of a brief period, lived on a farm near Cartersville. Four children were born to this union, three boys and a girl.

Some years later they moved to the vicinity of Rockford. In 1932 Mr. Hutchison became ill and was taken to a Mason City hosptial where he died.

In 1937 she was married to Walter Struchen and made their home in Rockford. Soon thereafter she lost her only daughter who left two children, Joyce and Frances. Mr. and Mrs. Struchen took them into their home and reared them. Mrs. Struchen thus played the role of grandmother and mother. She died at her home Nov. 17.
